London Emerges As Topmost Business Travel Destination In Concur Survey

London has been attributed as the topmost destination preferred for business travel. A study by expenses specialist Concur, made London the most preferred business travel destination amongst 25 most travelled destinations round the world. London topped the list beating international destinations like Shanghai, Singapore as well as Hong Kong amongst others.

Amongst European cities it stayed way ahead in popularity as Paris finished 7th and Amsterdam 13th. Stockholm, Madrid and Dublin were 15th, 22nd and 23rd respectively in the most popular business travel destination survey.

However when it came to expenses, London was sixth in most expensive destinations for business travel. Cities which forged ahead of London in the most expensive category were Tokyo, Sydney, Copenhagen and Stockholm.

Concur surveyed 15 million business travelers from its database for travel undertaken in 2011. According to Concur's General Manager, Isabel Montesdeoca, the number one status for business travel conferred on London was a great reassurance for UK's sagging economy and gave the required boost at a time it needed the most especially with emerging concerns of losing its competitiveness. Moreover the fact that it was only the sixth most expensive destination for business travel was welcome news considering the fact that people considered London an expensive city.
